Four good ideas to get you thinking...

You can put the Business Improvement Toolbox to work straight away. Where you make the most money and where you lose the most? Build up a prioritised list and then get focused on improvement. Here are four ideas to get you thinking.
Processes are at the core of all good businesses
As your business evolves, so does its processes. More often than not, they become inefficient, out of date and not fit for purpose – then you start to leach profits. So you need to monitor and modify them on a continuous cycle of improvement.
Six Sigma and Lean are two ways of ensuring peak performance.  All businesses can take advantage of these programmes without incurring huge expense.  By taking a focused and systematic ‘piecemeal’ approach it is possible to make real gains rapidly.
Businesses can’t survive without good IT systems
Your systems amass data at an incredible rate and store it in huge silos.  Why do you rarely use this expensive commodity to gain maximum value?  Is it because your employees aren’t always aware of how to extract the most useful information from it?  Correct analysis enables you to make fact-based decisions rather than using gut feel and emotion.
Businesses need to monitor and constantly watch for change
Whether it is in your internal processes or the products you sell, you need to be monitoring quality constantly and constantly watch for change.  How many quality control charts do you have in your organisation?  Too few and you are not able to spot critical changes; too many and they will be ignored by your staff.
Measuring process capability, establishing control charts and action plans, and building-in quality when you are designing your products and processes will ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
How well do you understand your customers?
What is it that really delights them about you over your competitors?  What are they saying about you? What are they really thinking about you and your products? When was the last time that you listened to the ‘voice of the customer’ and then made real improvements?
The Business Improvement Toolbox is the ideal way to start asking the right questions and then really listening and taking real action. You goal is not just to do ordinary business it is to delight your customers and gain their long-term loyalty.
